Internships

I am always seeking hard working, enthusiastic interns to join my Washington, D.C. and district offices. Candidates are typically college or graduate level students, and should possess strong written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated interest in public service. Internships are available for fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Washington, D.C.

In Washington, D.C., interns answer phones, research legislation, attend Congressional hearings and briefings, lead visitors on tours of the United States Capitol, and support my staff with the day to day operations of a Congressional office. Our Washington, D.C. interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

Hesperia, CA

By assisting the district team, interns will gain firsthand knowledge about how a congressional office provides constituent services, solves casework with federal agencies, and conducts outreach in the CA-23 community. Intern responsibilities include answering phones, working with district staff on special projects, and supporting the everyday function of the district office.

Our Spring 2024 Internship program is now open. The program will last from January through May 2024. While internship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, applicants should submit their application by December 1 for full consideration. Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to CA23.internships@mail.house.gov. Please include your name and the office you are applying to in the subject line.
