U.S. Congressman Jay Obernolte (R – Hesperia) has named Amy Ritter of Lewis Center’s Academy for Academic Excellence as teacher of the month for her work bringing STEM education to students across the region with local outreach field trips and the Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope (GAVRT) Radio Astronomy Project.
“Amy Ritter is an amazing example of what hard work and dedication to students can accomplish both inside and outside the classroom,” said Rep. Obernolte. “She has shown tremendous dedication to providing hands-on STEM learning to students across our region, even through the challenges of a global pandemic, and I am proud to highlight her efforts.”
Amy Ritter is a STEM teacher at the Lewis Center in Apple Valley serving the Academy for Academic Excellence and Norton Science and Language Academy. For years as a 1st Grade teacher, Amy ran space week activities and revamped the school’s science fair.
