Yucaipa basin projects funded in part by grants

Yucaipa’s Wilson III Basin project is underway and the city will soon be getting a new lake and more as a result.
Congressman Jay Obernolte was in Yucaipa on Aug. 16, to celebrate the Yucaipa Wilson III Basin Project. Obernolte secured $1 million in federal funding to support the project that helps reduce peak flow rates in Wilson Creek and improve water quality. He joined Yucaipa City Manager Ray Casey, Mayor David Avila, Councilman Greg Bogh and other city staff to tour the site of the lake.
“I’m happy to be back in this area,” said Obernolte, who just returned from Sacramento. “This project is amazing.”
