Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare Open Enrollment runs from October 15 to December 7 each year. During this period, people with Medicare can review their coverage and make changes that will take effect on January 1, 2026. 

 

What Can You Do During Open Enrollment? 

During open enrollment, you can: 

  • Switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage 

  • Join, switch, or drop a Part D prescription drug plan 

  • Compare plan costs, covered drugs, and provider networks 

 

How To Enroll or Make Changes 

You can enroll in Medicare or change your plan: 

  • Online through Medicare.gov or Social Security 

  • By calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) 

  • By contacting a Medicare plan directly
